Cheddar Indoor Play centre, Ocean Adventurers, are celebrating a double win in both the “New Tourism Business Award” and also the “Resilience and Innovation Award” categories at the highly acclaimed and sought a er 2022 Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards.
Director Laura Filer said “We are absolutely delighted to be winners in two categories. The standard of tourist attractions within the South-West is incredible and to be listed among such amazing other businesses is incredible. We are especially proud of the Resilience and Innovation on award given what the last couple of years has thrown at us as a new business which only opened in summer 2019.”
The tourism award finals which took place yesterday and are in their 6th year since starting, recognise tourism businesses that have excelled in a particular area, demonstrated excellence or succeeded against the odds showing resilience and Innovation. The awards involve a rigorous selection process including site visits, interviews and a judging panel of industry experts so the company are delighted with this result.
The awards continue to build on the other 4 award wins and further 6 finalists Ocean Adventurers have seen since opening due to working tirelessly to focus on pushing the boundaries of indoor play. Ocean Adventurers saw their most recent success prior to today last September when the company was awarded the Visit England Rose as a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction and Tourist Destination.
The Visit England Rose makes them one of a very limited number of indoor play venues in the UK to have such as accolade and reflects how Ocean Adventurers has focused on diversification and Innovation on consistently since opening along with significant expansion into day nurseries and opening another indoor play centre, Space Adventurers in Taunton last summer.
The team are also shortlisted in the Federation on of Small Business Family Business of the Year Award and their nursery chain Li le Adventures Nursery for Start-Up business of the year 2022, they will and out if they have won at the South-West Federation of Small Business Awards on the 2nd March.
